- The NAPBC (The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers)has established 27 standards that breast centers must meet to assure all patients with breast disease receive the highest quality of care. The 27 standards include breast center leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement. - Through the American College of Radiology (ACR), the center has earned full accreditation in multiple imaging modalities, including, mammography, ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound guided breast biopsy thus naming the Bennett Breast Center, a Center of Excellence. This accreditation is awarded to facilities who meet specific practice guidelines and technical standards in imaging practice developed by the ACR. The categories for assessment include patient care and treatment, patient safety, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs. Dr D'Augustine and Dr Rietschel are members of the American College of Breast Surgeons and voluntarily participate in the Mastery Program which is designed to help surgeons document their clinical performance of breast procedures, as well as their care of breast cancer patients and patients at risk for breast cancer. www.ACR.org
