Meet CMMC's nursing leadership and discover what professional nursing career opportunities are available at the region's
healthcare referral center.
Also, learn about the Cardiac Nurse Residency program developed by CMMC and the Maine College of Health Professions.
The Cardiac Nurse Residency can assist graduate nurses in transitioning to acute cardiac care. The program provides a learning environment that allows graduate nurses to gain clinical knowledge and confidence through the development of critical inquiry and evidence-based practice.
The 12-week Cardiac Nurse Residency program will be offered for positions in the Intensive Care Unit, the Cardiology/Cardiothoracic/Open Heart Recovery Unit, and the Cardiopulmonary Telemetry Unit at Central Maine Medical Center. The nurse resident will begin orientation under the guidance of a primary preceptor and faculty. After completing the 12-week program, the nurse resident will continue providing care under the guidance of a mentor for a year.
